APRIL 2025 & BEYOND!

HOWDY Y'ALL! I'm taking April off from public performances but I'll still be sharing my music with Seniors & Veterans in the meanwhile. I'll be back at LENNY'S in WESTBROOK on Thursday, MAY 8th & beyond that, I'll make my debut at the lovely SAWYER MEMORIAL venue in GREENE on JUNE 6th & I'm back at CADENZA in FREEPORT on JUNE 7th.

Details, Links & Musings are listed below in this order:

1. TARGET GIGS (Full Details)

THURSDAY / MAY 8th / LENNY'S / WESTBROOK ME / 6:30 to 9PM / 207-591-0177... We always have a blast here... The food is awesome & affordable, the staff is wicked fun & really good at what they do... & the list of artists performing here is topnotch. I am honored to be on that list, playing every other month. I hope you'll join us for the fun, the food, the music & the camaraderie! And THANKS for remembering the suggested donation for music is $10 pp in "Phil" the tip basket ("Phil" is short for "fill it up please!")

FRIDAY / JUNE 6th / SAWYER MEMORIAL / GREENE ME / 2 SHOWS at 2PM & 7PM / 207-946-5311... this will be my first time performing here & I can't wait! If you check out their website you‘ll learn that this 200 seat venue was built in 1937 & it is completely nonprofit. There are never any ticket or entry fees of any kind... instead there is an optional donation box for those who are able to give. The Sawyer Foundation's mission is to provide free family friendly educational & entertainment events to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. If you can't be there in person for the show, you can donate anytime.

SATURDAY / JUNE 7th / CADENZA / FREEPORT ME / 7PM / 207-560-5300... Cadenza has become one of the best listening rooms around. Being part of the LIVE audience here is an intimate & lovely experience.... Plus, they have beer, wine, coffee & other beverages & snacks... also, you can order food from Brickyard Hollow next door & they deliver it to Cadenza! Reservations are strongly encouraged. A word of caution: please don't wait until the last minute, hoping to buy tickets at the door, as the doors may not open... staff needs to be paid before performers & there have been times when low presales dictated that the owners had to cancel or reschedule shows. This hasn't happened to me yet & I hope it never does. This is one of my fave rooms to play, unlike any other... so thanks in advance for reserving your seats ahead of showtime! The ticket link is right here. The livestream Link is here. Donations during the stream (or anytime!) are always greatly appreciated at:

2. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERING

March was a busy month. I had a fabulous gig at Elements in Biddeford where many of my colleagues from my Saco Middle School days came for some long overdue camaraderie & some soulful music in a perfect spot for both. It was great to see everybody & to share my music with them (& others) in such a sweet spot. Thanks to Anne Kennedy, who asked a staff member to snap this picture at the end of the night...

Good News: the Elements staff has asked me back to play again on September 19th... they had as much fun that night as we did! Such a very cool place.

I also had a fabulous night at Lenny's in Westbrook on March 13th... always a fun hang, but this was a particularly memorable evening with a lot of good friends & some family there, as well as one couple who stood out cos they were on a first date & were smiling & nodding at me the whole night. I got a message from the gentleman later saying the backdrop of music was just perfect for a first date & they would see me again. How cool is THAT?

March has been a fickle month weather wise here in southern Maine. One day, the birds are singing, the trees are sheepishly daring to sprout a bud or two, crocuses are up, it's warm & sunny... then BAM! The ground is white again & I'm glad I didn't put my shovel in the back corner of my shed yet. I spent a weekend upta Southport just after the spring equinox & my sis-in-law Mary Lou & I just HAD to christen the front porch overlooking the harbor, even though there was still a determined bite in the air to remind us that sometimes the calendar's declaration of the first day of spring doesn't always match the real world version...

Tonya Shevenell joined Mary Lou & I the night we sojourned north from Southport upta the Newcastle Publick House to hear the Scotti River Trio play some tunes. Scotti was down in Nawlins so it was the duo Steve Jones & Paul Mellyn performing that night. It was an intimate spot just right for absorbing some meticulous guitar work & some mostly mellow & thoughtful song choices. Locals enjoy dancing close in that cozy space... & when Paul handed me his guitar so I could play a few tunes with Steve, they kept on dancing. Thank you Tonya for this picture!

As March comes to a close, my heart is alive with hopes for April showers, then May flowers... but, as always, we'll take what we get. I hope to see many of you out & about... in May & June, maybe at Lenny's, Sawyer Memorial or Cadenza... or maybe before then on a trail through the woods, on the beach or at the grocery store. Thanks for tuning in to my ramblings... your support means more to me than you can know.
