1. TARGET GIGS (Full Details)

SATURDAY / AUGUST 9th / PORTLAND HARBOR HOTEL / PORTLAND ME / 5PM / 207-300-0142... very pleased I was invited to be part of the rotation of musicians here this summer! If weather allows, I will be outside in the enclosed terrace area, which, in my opinion, feels a bit like being in New Orleans. Last month, it was a beautiful night & a lovely mix of people... all ages, friendly & interactive. I play from 5 to 8... & if need be, I can play inside, so it's a rain or shine show. Hope to see a bunch of you... this is my last show here in 2025 unless something changes!

FRIDAY / AUGUST 29th / LINCOLN HOTEL / BIDDEFORD ME / 6:45PM / 207-815-3977... I visited this hotel months ago to enjoy a fellow performer's performance & fell in love with the ambience of this special spot. This August show will be my debut gig here & I'm looking forward to hearing my voice & guitar in this beautiful space. I'm hoping some of you can join me here & that this will be the kick off to a long relationship with a very cool hotel.

THURSDAY / SEPTEMBER 11th / LENNY'S / WESTBROOK ME / 6:30 to 9PM / 207-591-0177... We always have a blast here... The food is awesome & affordable, the staff is wicked fun & really good at what they do... & the list of artists performing here is topnotch. I am honored to be on that list, playing every other month. I hope you'll join us for the fun, the food, the music & the camaraderie! And THANKS for remembering the suggested donation for music is $10 pp in "Phil" the tip basket ("Phil" is short for "fill it up please!") Future date @ Lenny's: Nov 13

FRIDAY / SEPTEMBER 19th / ELEMENTS / BIDDEFORD ME / 6:30 to 8PM / 207-710-2011... LOVE this room... a very intimate concert scene. It's a laid back & comfy space... with beer, wine, coffee, yummy baked goods, small plates, LOTS of books & friendly patrons. In lieu of a cover charge, a donations jar is placed near the stage for your $5 pp suggested donation. Bring your appetites & bring your friends... they'll be impressed you know about this cool spot. Always good to get here early... seating is limited.

SATURDAY / OCTOBER 18th / CADENZA / FREEPORT ME / 7PM / 207-560-5300... (doors at 6:15!) Cadenza has become one of the best listening rooms around. Being part of the LIVE audience here is an intimate & lovely experience.... Plus, they have beer, wine, coffee & other beverages & snacks... also, you can order food from Brickyard Hollow next door & they deliver it to Cadenza! Reservations are strongly encouraged. A word of caution: please don't wait until the last minute, hoping to buy tickets at the door, as the doors may not open... staff needs to be paid before performers & there have been times when low presales dictated that the owners had to cancel or reschedule shows. This hasn't happened to me yet & I hope it never does. This is one of my fave rooms to play, unlike any other... so thanks in advance for reserving your seats ahead of showtime! The ticket link is right here. The livestream Link is here. Donations during the stream (or anytime!) are always greatly appreciated at:

2. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERINGS

Nobody can accuse me of slacking when it comes to milking every possible moment of summah to full advantage. From start to finish, I have not missed an opportunity to enjoy this short but amazing season in Maine. Highlights in July began with a beach day on the 4th... walking at low tide, then good food, fab music & dancing in Old Orchard Beach. My July 8th birthday found my pal Amy & me in Ogunquit walking Marginal Way from uptown to Perkins Cove, where we had a fabulous lunch. The only time it rained was while we were inside having lunch & once again when we got back to my place & inside to enjoy Amy's chocolate torte with whipped cream & champagne... Tonya Shevenell joined us for this part of the celebration... awesome birthday!

The birthday celebration continued on July 10th when I split a bill with The Piners at Lenny's in Westbrook. It was a perfect summer night for an outside show & the crowd sang Happy Birthday to both Pip & I, whose birthday was 2 days before mine. Next morning I drove north to Moosehead Lake for the weekend, where I was blessed with a decent day to climb my fave Big Moose Mtn. The clouds that had lingered from an overnight rain were lifting beautifully when I got to my special spot...

Next day I played my annual gig at The Birches Resort in Rockwood... another beautiful summer day, just right for an outside show on the porch overlooking the lake & surrounding mountains. Yes, it was a tad windy for set one, but it calmed down after that & all was well... so thankful so many of my pals showed up for this gig & mad at myself for not taking a picture! I was having too much fun dancing & singing on the porch!

4 days later, my NH pal Carrie & her man Stacey & 2 friends came to OOB for a beach get away. It was hot on July 17th, but we were fine in the shade at The Swick where we enjoyed some beverages, some good music & a lot of laughter. Next night I played my 2nd show at The Portland Harbor Hotel. I knew what to bring this time... here's my set up... please note I brought a clamping umbrella this time to shade my amp from the sun which sets right there on the terrace during the time that I perform... I had a hat, so I provided one for my amp as well!

It was a great gig. Met folks from all over & the night was just right for an outside show. 2 days later, another beach day... (Somebody has to do this stuff, right?) College pals Bob & Sally came for this one & we had a blast on another perfect summer day...

Next week I had 6 day gigs in 3 days, and then caught my fellow songwriter pal Dana Cooper from Nashville at Hill Arts in Portland for a show. It was nice to catch up with him for a bit before he moved on with his tour. 2 nights later, July 26th, I was at one of the best concerts I've seen in a while at the State Theatre... Drew & Ellie Holcombe really put on a stellar show there that night. This husband & wife team, each with solo careers, just released a duo effort & it has become one of my fave albums of the year so far. The title cut "Memory Bank" is a sure pick for a dance in the kitchen. It was a joy to see them loving every minute together on stage. Whoever was engineering sound there that night gets high fives from me... & Ellie... my God... I thoughtwiggled a lot when I played music... but you were so fun to watch & your voice, well, both of your voices just blow me away. Impeccable harmonies, thoughtful, powerful & positive lyrics... people were standing, singing along & dancing in the aisles.... myself included. Go see these two if you can... you won't regret it!

As if that weren't enough packing it in in the month of July, I took a ride upta to Crystal Lake in Gray to hang with my longtime pal Jill & her husband Jereal. Another hot summah day just right for lake swimming & floating & eating lobstahs on the deck. What fun... this has become an annual thing & hope it continues.

Gray ME, July 29 2025

My last summer show at the Portland Harbor Hotel is comin' up fast, and then I'll go north again to the Moosehead Lake area to hike, swim, paddle & just hang out in a lovely place. When I get back, my debut gig at The Lincoln Hotel awaits me at the start of Labor Day weekend. As we round the corner into August, I always wish I could pull the reins in on summahtime... it goes so quick doesn't it?

Wherever you are this summer, I hope you remember that music & the outdoors are good medicine! I hope to see many of you... at a show, on a trail through the woods, on top of a mountain, on the beach, dancin' at "The Swick" in OOB or maybe at the grocery store. Thanks for tuning in to my ramblings... your support means more to me than you can know.

Peace,

Steven L'Heureux
