1. TARGET GIGS (Full Details)
THURSDAY / DECEMBER 4th / LENNY'S / WESTBROOK ME / 6:30 to 9PM / 207-591-0177... We always have a blast here... The food is awesome & affordable, the staff is wicked fun & really good at what they do... & the list of artists performing here is topnotch. I am honored to be on that list, playing every other month. I hope you'll join us for the fun, the food, the music & the camaraderie! And THANKS for remembering the suggested donation for music is $10 pp in "Phil" the tip basket ("Phil" is short for "fill it up please!") Lenny's will be closed in January & February, so don't miss this one!
SATURDAY / FEBRUARY 7th / CADENZA / FREEPORT ME / 7PM / 207-560-5300... (doors at 6:15!) Cadenza has become one of the best listening rooms around. Being part of the LIVE audience here is an intimate & lovely experience.... Plus, they have beer, wine, coffee & other beverages & snacks... also, you can order food from Brickyard Hollow next door & they deliver it to Cadenza! Reservations are strongly encouraged. A word of caution: please don't wait until the last minute, hoping to buy tickets at the door, as the doors may not open... staff needs to be paid before performers & there have been times when low presales dictated that the owners had to cancel or reschedule shows. This hasn't happened to me yet & I hope it never does. This is one of my fave rooms to play, unlike any other... so thanks in advance for reserving your seats ahead of showtime!. Ticket link soon! The livestream Link is here. Donations during the stream (or anytime!) are always greatly appreciated at:

FRIDAY / MARCH 6th / ELEMENTS / BIDDEFORD ME / 6:00 to 7:30PM / 207-710-2011... LOVE this room... a very intimate concert scene. It's a laid back & comfy space... with beer, wine, coffee, yummy baked goods, small plates, LOTS of books & friendly patrons. In lieu of a cover charge, a donations jar is placed near the stage for your $5 pp suggested donation. Bring your appetites & bring your friends... they'll be impressed you know about this cool spot. Always good to get here early... seating is limited.
SUNDAY / APRIL 12th / UNITED PARISH CONCERT SERIES / HARRISON ME / 3PM / 207-583-4840... I am totally psyched for my debut at this well-known concert series in beautiful downtown Harrison ME. Not far from one of my other fave concert venues, The Deertrees Theater (where I recorded my LIVE album in 2004), this Congregational Church on Main has hosted past performers such as Erica Brown (of Darlin' Corey), Jud Caswell, Bruce Marshall, Cindy Kallet & so many more. It was Cindy Kallet, a well-loved longtime Maineperformer & songwriter, who recommended me to Nancy Chapman with "high praise" as a possible future performer. BIG thanks to Cindy for connecting me to Nancy! I'll play 2 sets of music starting at 3PM, with a break for refreshments & time to mingle between sets. I hear the acoustics here are just fabulous. Tickets are already selling via this eventbrite link here. Let's celebrate the coming of spring together with songs & camaraderie in this very special spot!
2. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERINGS
My mantra has often been "mountains & music move me." As we move into the last month of 2025 with holiday tunes surrounding us, I reflect on a November celebrating mountains & music. Although I had only one public performance in November, I was on the road bringing music to residents at 17 different senior facilities & my local Veterans Home. It was a challenging schedule but one in which both the residents & I came away with broad smiles & full hearts.
Music commitments completed, it was then time to celebrate the mountains. 50 years ago on November 22nd I completed a 5 month through hike on the Appalachian Trail. I have been re-reading the journals I wrote while on the trail, day by day, remembering where I was & what I was doing exactly 50 years ago every day since our start on June 18th in 1975. What a sojourn & a great romp back through those pages. Earlier this year I digitized the slides I had from that adventure so it was much easier to follow along by photo as I read. I looked at maps & wondered how the hell we did all that! Well, in your 20s, you're invincible right? Anyway, I stumbled upon this 50 year old slide (taken with a rudimentary camera at best) & thought it was a valid capture of who I had become by the time we hit VA...

Yes, that's my beloved "Maple" that I found in VT on the trail & used for 48 years until I accidentally left her behind during a walk at The Rachel Carson Wildlife Sanctuary near Biddeford Pool in Maine. I still miss her so. Like the song I wrote to commemorate Maple ponders: "I hope whoever found her hikes as much as me 'cos if she sits idle in some shed, that was never meant to be..." SIGH. I hike with a collapsible pole now, as no other piece of wood can ever match the feel of Maple in my hand. I am adjusting... slowly.
I hiked the 2nd half of the AT from Harpers Ferry W VA to Springer Mtn in GA with 4 others. My partner David Gagnon, who did the whole trip with me from Katahdin south, died 10 years ago. The other 3 we hiked with were Kathy McLaughlin & Joyce Hillmann from MA & Eric Heinrich from FL. Unfortunately, Joyce passed away in 2021 & I can't find Eric... yet. I'm working on it. But I found Kathy a few years back & learned she changed her name in 1978 to Roan Katahdin... the names of 2 of many amazing mountains on the AT. (Trust me, the AT sticks with you... you don't wanna let it go when it's time to go back to "the regular world".) Roan & I decided to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our trek together in Portland ME with 3 of my best pals from college. We were blessed with a warm November 22nd afternoon, a day that allowed us to enjoy a beverage & a view of the waterfront from a 2nd floor outdoor deck in the Old Port. We got the bartender to come outside to snap this picture:

What a difference a few weeks can make in the mountains. I swear it feels like yesterday I was hiking in The White Mtns in NH in a t-shirt & a lightweight wind breaker, staring out at ridge after ridge from various summits & from the deck of the condo I stayed at for 5 nights. Mt Washington had no snow on it until my very last day of hiking on October 9th... & then, it was only a dusting. Now here is an incredible shot (not mine) of a lenticular cloud above a VERY snowy Mt Washington, taken on November 25th & shared on Facebook:

Guess it's time to find the snowshoes & change the hiking tips on my collapsible poles to ski & snowshoe baskets!
So now it is the end of November, Thanksgiving is in the rearview & here comes Christmas! I've got one public show in December in Westbrook at Lenny's on December 4th... so take a break from your holiday running around & come find me hummin' & strummin' in a fave family friendly venue. Thanks for tuning in to my ramblings... your support means more to me than you can know.
Peace,
