1. TARGET GIGS (Full Details)

FRIDAY / JUNE 6th / SAWYER MEMORIAL / GREENE ME / 2 SHOWS at 2PM & 7PM / 207-946-5311... this will be my first time performing here & I can't wait! If you check out their website you‘ll learn that this 200 seat venue was built in 1937 & it is completely nonprofit. There are never any ticket or entry fees of any kind... instead there is an optional donation box for those who are able to give. The Sawyer Foundation's mission is to provide free family friendly educational & entertainment events to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. If you can't be there in person for the show, you can donate anytime.

SATURDAY / JUNE 7th / CADENZA / FREEPORT ME / 7PM / 207-560-5300... Cadenza has become one of the best listening rooms around. Being part of the LIVE audience here is an intimate & lovely experience.... Plus, they have beer, wine, coffee & other beverages & snacks... also, you can order food from Brickyard Hollow next door & they deliver it to Cadenza! Reservations are strongly encouraged. A word of caution: please don't wait until the last minute, hoping to buy tickets at the door, as the doors may not open...staff needs to be paid before performers & there have been times when low presales dictated that the owners had to cancel or reschedule shows. This hasn't happened to me yet & I hope it never does. This is one of my fave rooms to play, unlike any other... so thanks in advance for reserving your seats ahead of showtime! The ticket link is right here. The livestream Link is here. Donations during the stream (or anytime!) are always greatly appreciated at:

FRIDAY / JUNE 20th / PORTLAND HARBOR HOTEL / PORTLAND ME / 5PM / 207-300-0142... very pleased I was invited to be part of the rotation of musicians here this summer! If weather allows, I will be outside in the enclosed terrace area, which, in my opinion, feels a bit like being in New Orleans(well, not so much in the winter when they have the ice bar out there.) Come check it out & see if you agree with me... I'll play from 5 to 8... & if need be, I can play inside, so it's a rain or shine show. Hope to see a bunch of you there at my very 1st show in this beautiful spot! (Future dates here: July 18 & Aug 8.)

THURSDAY / JULY 10th / LENNY'S / WESTBROOK ME / 6:30 to 9PM / 207-591-0177... This is my annual birthday gig with a big twist! I'm splitting the bill with... drum roll please... THE PINERS! Do you remember the Piners? They began turning a lot of heads with their infectious Country/Americana sound in the mid 90's & had a great run of shows for a decade or more. They've been on a long hiatus, but on their 30th Anniversary the trio decided to get back together to play some tunes. It'll be so much fun to hear Pip Walter, Boo Cowie & Haakon Kaalweit doin' their thing again! Rumor has it that I'll join them on stage for a couple tunes as well. And not only that, this July 10th gig is 2 days after my birthday & 3 days after Pip's birthday! We'll have a lot to celebrate... if the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll play inside, but we are all hoping for an outside sound fest & a big celebration!

(Future solo dates @ Lenny's: Sept 11 & Nov 13)

SUNDAY / JULY 13th / THE BIRCHES / ROCKWOOD ME / 2PM / 207-534-7305... this is such a lovely setting... right on the edge of Moosehead Lake with views of Mount Kineo & the Appalachian Trail corridor. Full bar, great food & yours truly hummin' & strummin' from 2 to 5PM. I'll set up outside on the porch, weather allowing. I always look forward to this annual gig at one of my fave spots. If you want dinner, make a reservation ahead of time!

2. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERING

Holy Guacamole! April & May brought day after day of raw, wet weather here in Maine. We even got snow in the mountains in May this year... not the lasting kind, but still... suffice to say, everybody here is ready for some sunshine, some outdoor adventures... & of course, some outdoor music!

Mid-month I got back upta Moosehead Lake to listen to the peepers (when it wasn't raining, they were singing at dusk, a short-lived annual treat that I hate to miss!) I shot this surrealistic picture during a moment of mist & clouds only, but no rain.

I was up there a week before the 5 year anniversary of my near-death experience falling off the dock (just to the right of the picture above.) I snapped these pictures with those memories in mind & shared this short version of my story on Facebook on May 24th, the actual 5 year anniversary date ...

5 years ago today I had a near death experience when I fell off this dock into 35 degree water over my head into Moosehead Lake. Very lucky I didn't drown or split my head open slipping on rocks as I pulled myself to shore in a hypothermic coma. Instead, I ripped up my left leg & got 20 stitches... the pointed rock seen here I now call "Left Shin Point"... far as I can figure, that's what happened... I remember nothing from the time I hit the water until I saw blood all over my left foot when I got back to the house & I tried to get my shoes off! I survived 2 nights in 2 different hospitals during the height of Covid... & 4 months later, I released my 1st studio album in 18 years... "Will It Ever Be the Same"... imagine just how lucky I feel to have been able to tell my story. Today, I still feeling pretty damn lucky! Enjoy every moment my friends... cos ya just never know.

Here are the pictures I shared with that Facebook post:

Fell off the deep end here on May 24th, 2020

"Left Shin Point"... scrambled blindly over all those rocks!

(Zoom in if you can... amazing I only hurt my leg!)

As stated in my Facebook post, I am still feeling lucky to be here to share this story & the music that poured out of me after I survived this experience. I look forward to some swimming near that dock this summer when the water warms up, way above 35 degrees! I promise I'll be careful on the dock.

Wherever you are this summer, I urge each of you to do whatever it takes to stay grounded & healthy. Please remember that music is medicine! I hope to see many of you out & about... maybe at a show... Sawyer Memorial, Cadenza, the Portland Harbor Hotel, Lenny's or the Birches... or maybe on a trail through the woods, on the beach or at the grocery store. Thanks for tuning in to my ramblings... your support means more to me than you can know.

Peace,

Steven L'Heureux
