THURSDAY / MARCH 12th / LENNY'S / WESTBROOK ME / 6:30 to 9PM / 207-591-0177... After closing for renovations & a transition to new ownership, Lenny's reopens in March! I am excited to be one of the first performers back on stage at this sweet "feels like home" spot. As I write, they are hoping for a ribbon cutting ceremony earlier on the day of my show! I hope you'll join us for the fun, the food, the music & the welcoming in of Jill Piker & her team. And THANKS for remembering the suggested donation for music is $10 pp in "Phil" the tip basket ("Phil" is short for "fill it up please!")

SUNDAY / APRIL 12th / UNITED PARISH CONCERT SERIES / HARRISON ME / 3PM / 207-583-4840... I am totally psyched for my debut at this well-known concert series in beautiful downtown Harrison ME. Not far from one of my other fave concert venues, The Deertrees Theater (where I recorded my LIVE album in 2004), this Congregational Church on Main has hosted past performers such as Erica Brown (of Darlin' Corey), Jud Caswell, Bruce Marshall, Cindy Kallet & so many more. It was Cindy Kallet, a well-loved longtime Maine performer & songwriter, who recommended me to Nancy Chapman with "high praise" as a possible future performer. BIG thanks to Cindy for connecting me to Nancy! I'll play 2 sets of music starting at 3PM, with a break for refreshments & time to mingle between sets. I hear the acoustics here are just fabulous. Tickets are already selling via this Eventbrite link. Let's celebrate the coming of spring together with songs & camaraderie in this very special spot!

FRIDAY / APRIL 17th / ELEMENTS / BIDDEFORD ME / 6:00 to 7:30PM / 207-710-2011... LOVE this room... a very intimate concert scene. It's a laid back & comfy space... with beer, wine, coffee, yummy baked goods, small plates, LOTS of books & friendly patrons. In lieu of a cover charge, a donations jar is placed near the stage by the Elements staff & there is a VENMO option as well if you have no cash. Bring your appetites & bring your friends... they'll be impressed you know about this cool spot. Always good to get here early... seating is limited.

2. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERINGS

Gotta say I'll be glad to see February in the rear-view this year. Hey, I don't mind a little snow... I'm still pretty solid when it comes to shoveling & driving on greasy roads... but these back-to-back storms & the mostly constant deep freeze here on the southern coast of Maine were starting to get to me. I remind myself that others had it way worse south & west of this area, but still... I am excited to contemplate clocks moving forward on March 8th & the first day of spring on March 20th. We'll see if the weather takes notice that spring supposedly begins on that day. I won't hold my breath on that, but I will be hoping for less shoveling & a warming trend.

All that said, we did have a brief warm up between storms that allowed me to make a run to Bridgton ME to do some cross-country skiing with pals Bob & Sally one beautiful bluebird day in February. It was such a lovely respite, we just had to capture a selfie after a climb up one big hill.

Not far from where we shot that selfie, we spied a baby possum crossing the trail up ahead of us. We approached as quietly as one can on skis, so as not to alarm the little guy & I snapped this picture when he (she?)  turned to make sure I wasn't getting any closer...

That was one of my fave February days. I also had one stand out night in February when I played at Cadenza in Freeport on the 7th. The audience that night was completely tuned in & the set of music & stories I put together was apparently everything we all needed on that night, in that room. Many folks visited with me after the show sharing their thanks for such a nice break from the cold, the wind, the news & the daily challenges of a rugged winter in Maine. The audience & the ambience at Cadenza invites nights like this regularly... I am already looking forward to my next show there on June 13th!

I am also looking forward to my return to both Lenny's in March & Elements in April... these venues, too, can foster soulful interaction through music & camaraderie. I have been very selective in recent months when booking public performances & these venues will be on my wish list for as long as they will have me! My debut in Harrison at the United Parish Concerts Series on April 12th is sure to be a lovely experience as well. Grab your tickets now right here.

Meanwhile, I'll leave you with a photo taken earlier this month from the bay window in my condo. I captured a sunset through the beautiful ornament gifted to me long ago by my good friend Tonya. Today, this photo says to me "spring can't be too far away... let's celebrate the sunset on February."

Thanks for tuning in to my ramblings... your support means more to me than you can know. Take care of yourselves & each other. I hope to see you on the trail, at the beach, on the streets &/or at the show.

Peace,

Steven L'Heureux
